Mahsa Vahdat vant i 2016 den prestisjefylte ”Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik” i Tyskland for sitt album ”The Sun Will Rise” i kategorien tradisjonell etnisk musikk.

Where Is Home?
Mahsa Vahdat from Iran is on a path of music and art, and she has been so for most of her life. With the whole world as her stage and a complicated relationship with her homeland, where her profession is banned by the government, she has become a wanderer. For more than two decades she has been an important ambassador of Persian poetry and music all over the world and taken Persian music and poetry to new heights. After countless concerts, a number of records and many collaborations with musicians from Asia, Europe and America, she has got a large audience throughout the world, and even in Iran where most people in spite of restrictions can get hold of her music through the Internet. She has through her long lasting cooperation with KKV got a special relationship with Norway.
The fundamental question ”Where Is Home?” constantly lives within her as a reflection of her longing and hopes. Ever since her childhood, she has had to move because of revolution, war and unrest, but the concept of home is still there as a state beyond time and geography.
In her new solo performance she reflects and dreams around the question about where we have our true home, which on a deep level is relevant for all human beings.
